Dear Supporters,

Today I have some exciting news to share with you guys! I’ve wanted to tell you all for awhile now, but I’ve had to wait until it was finalized. As you all know, my job as a missionary is to raise up disciples of Jesus by training them here in the states and leading teams to the nations. For the past few months I’ve been doing the former, but now it’s time to do the latter! I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’m leading a team overseas next month back to Nepal!

As many of you know, I went to Nepal for the first time a little over a year ago on my first mission trip with YWAM. It was a life-changing experience to say the least. Despite the hardships that come with this country, I truly loved this trip and was so grateful for the opportunity to go. While there’s a part of me that would like to taste what missions are like in other countries, I’m so excited to get to go back to the place that I have such a big heart for.

The conversations about this first started around two months ago. My leaders took a great deal of time and consideration to pray about where to send teams for this discipleship training school. Nepal was a country that was really highlighted to them, so when they heard about my heart for Nepal, they thought it made a lot of sense to send me. I was incredibly honored when they came to me and asked me to lead this team to Nepal along with my co-leader, Faith.

While it has been talked about for months, our flights have just recently been booked, and the trip is coming together. A little bit about this trip:

  • We will leave the U.S. on December 4th, one month from today! We will stay for a little over two months and then come back to the U.S. on February 8th.
  • This means our team will be missing a majority of the Holiday season which we are sad about, but we’re also super excited to celebrate with our team overseas!
  • Our team consists of 11 people total. There are two of us leaders, one married couple, one baby, 2 other single guys, and 4 other single girls.

As far as what ministry we’ll be doing in Nepal, we’re still trying to finalize that. That’s actually what we’ve spent a majority of our time doing for the last month or so. As leaders one of our jobs is to take point on planning the trip. We’re in charge of reaching out to front line missionaries who will work as our contacts and help us engage in ministry while we’re there. While we’re planning our time in Nepal, we’re also busy trying to adequately prepare our team to be ready for Nepal. We have a lot of meetings, are doing a ton of research, and really are trying the do the best we can.

All of this is on top of our regular responsibilities that we’ve had the last few months as well. We’ve had some awesome weeks of class recently. We had a “Missions” week where our speaker really challenged us to consider long-term missions. We had a “Biblical Overview” week where our speaker briefly talked about every book of the Bible and how they tied together. The week on “Following Jesus” our speakers showed us what it looks like to have extravagant love, extravagant obedience, and extravagant faith. Finally this last week was our “Holy Spirit” week where we talked about the Holy Spirit’s role in the Trinity. Our students are learning a lot and really grasping the vision for what we do at YWAM which is cool to see.

Needless to say, I’ve been very busy the last month or so, and overwhelmed at times. It’s funny to me how I’ve been in very busy seasons of my life in the past, with a lot more to do, but yet something about this is different. I think it’s the responsibility I feel with leading this team and having these students’ lives in my hands. It’s something I don’t take lightly and if I’m being honest and very nervous about. However, I also confidently can say that God has equipped me for this and is teaching me everything I need to know to lead this team with excellence.

Again, I want to thank all of you for enabling me to do this ministry. It is an honor to be selected to lead this team and to have such a fantastic support team behind me. I thank God for each of you as I wouldn’t be able to do this without you. I know it sounds redundant, but I really do appreciate all of you. Together we are partnering together to see God’s Kingdom advanced!
